Getting to the venue

Public Transport
For most participants, the quickest and most economical way of getting to the venue will be by train. Central Station is an interchange for all metro and intercity trains and buses. It’s a 10 minute train ride from the Domestic Airport and Novotel Sydney Central is an easy 10 minute walk from Central Station (via an underground tunnel).

When you arrive at Central Station, take the "Devonshire St tunnel" exit. This is an underground walk way that will take you all the way to Thomas Street. Alternatively you can exit at Railway Square and walk down Quay St, until you reach Thomas Street.

Plan your trip using the Transport Info website

Secure undercover parking is available at the Novotel Sydney Central (via Wilson Parking) at a cost of $30/24hrs.

If you need to drive (because of health reasons, or you are coming from a regional area where driving is more convenient) and therefore require a parking space, we are happy to reimburse you for parking costs at the Novotel Sydney Central. Parking costs incurred at other parking venues will not be reimbursed.

It is a requirement that you contact us to book a space prior to arrival at the event.

Because start and finish times of the event are around peak hour, we suggest you factor extra time into your journey to ensure you arrive on time.

As the venue is within walking distance of public transport, it is preferred that participants utilise this where possible to minimise our event costs.

For more details about travel reimbursements, please refer to the Travel & Accommodation guidelines.

Accommodation will be offered to participants who reside outside of the Sydney metropolitan area. However, if you able to stay with family or friends we encourage you to do so, in order to minimise our event costs.

For more detailed information about accommodation for the event, please refer to the Travel & Accommodation guidelines.

We are putting the final touches on our two day program, but we are able to share with you a sneak peak. Participants at P4C2016 will leave with a good understanding of the I Care for Palliative Care campaign and campaign tactics, a local plan of action, and ideas on how to make it all happen.

Pre-reading will be sent via email once participants have been confirmed.

Meal arrangements

Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch will be provided on both days of the event. In addition, there will be light refreshments and canapés at an evening function on Day 1 (Monday, November 7).

For participants staying at the venue or away from home (ie with family or a friend) during the event, you are free to make your own dinner arrangements. If you would like assistance to cover costs we can help you with a reimbursement of up to $48.00 per meal (excluding alcohol). If you are staying at the Novotel Sydney Central there is a restaurant onsite. Alternatively, the hotel is close to Chinatown, Darling Harbour and the Sydney CBD where there are a range of eating options available within walking distance. We encourage you to consider your dinner plans with fellow participants prior to the event in order to maximise your networking and social time.

Please ensure that you advise our team if you have dietary requirements by no later than October 10.

For more detailed information about meal reimbursements for the event, please refer to the Travel & Accommodation guidelines.
